ABOUT
Beckettsfield Campsite & Cottage is a unique place, held in trust to provide a place for young people to experience the majesty of nature, camping, hiking and pausing a while on the ancient vantage point of Saggart Hill.
It was established as a legacy to the memory of an inspiring scout leader Roger Beckett who died of cancer in 1978 at the age of 28.
The field and it's cottage have been established, improved and maintained by volunteers of the Dublin 20th Scout Troop at Taney parish in Dundrum and is available to scouting groups and youth organisations.
(Beckettsfield is not available for family tents or campervans)
BUNK ROOMS
Beckettsfield Cottage offers three bunk rooms. Two with (x6) bunks and the large room offers (x15). Ideal for large or mixed groups.
FACILITIES
Toilets
The two (x6) bunk rooms have en-suite toilet facilities. There are also toilets next to the (x15) bunk room.
Sheltered Campfire Area
Down at the bottom of the site there is a large sheltered campfire area, ideal for large groups.
Kitchen
The Cottage has a simple and functional kitchen. Including a fridge, gas hob and oven.
Camping
Beckettsfield is over 1.5 acres and ideal for camping. Bring your small or large tents.
Wood Burning Stove
The Cottage is fitted with a wood burning stove for those chilly nights (and sing alongs!)
Showers
The Cottage has three separate shower rooms.
(And yes there's hot water)

Hiking
Adjacent to a Coillte Forest and to the Dublin/Wicklow mountains with endless hiking trails.
Lakes
Beckettsfield Campsite & Cottage is close to the Blessington Lakes ideal for swimming, walking or cycling.
Cycling
Bring your bikes, and you'll never have a dull moment. Beckettsfield is ideally located for on or off road cycling.
